Dr. Rachel Mesch, associate professor of French and chair of the department of foreign languages and cultures, published a short non-fiction piece in the Fall 2018 issue of . In 鈥淔irst Grade, Second Language,鈥 Dr. Mesch speaks about an experience she had when she was six years old and living in Israel for the year when her father was on sabbatical that involves love, loss and language.
鈥淚t is quite separate from my scholarly work in 19-century French literature,鈥 she acknowledged, 鈥渁lthough it does explore my early relationship with foreign languages.鈥
