Dr. Khazanov is a California transplant committed to fostering thoughtful and engaged clinical psychologists with the skills to lead the field forward. She believes in people and in bringing them together.
Dr. Khazanov uses mixed methods with the aim of improving patient and provider access to and engagement in interventions to prevent suicide and treat problematic substance use. She is particularly interested in leveraging community engagement, behavioral economic strategies, and dissemination and implementation research to achieve these goals. Much of Dr. Khazanov’s research focuses on secure firearm storage for suicide prevention and contingency management (the provision of financial incentives to encourage treatment engagement) for individuals with problematic substance use.
